Beaver Creek, Colorado is a year-round destination where guests can fill their day with activities or relaxation or both! We offer an array of unique experiences on property, including a collection of sophisticated dining options, curated treatments at The Ritz-Carlton Spa, and enrichment experiences. During ski season, our ski-in, ski-out location provides access to 2,000 acres of skiing on Beaver Creek Mountain, along with winter activities including snowshoeing, ice-skating, snowmobiling, fly fishing and Nordic skiing. Summer, fall and spring adventures include hiking, golfing, mountain biking, fly fishing, tennis, rafting and jeep tours. Fall is a beautiful time of year to experience the stunning golden aspen trees. Below please find suggestions for packing, advanced reservations to be made and activities to experience. Once you have a confirmed reservation, our Concierge team is available to assist you with personal recommendations and reservations to ensure a memorable stay.
Winter Warmth
Winter weather here can vary depending on the time of year and time of day. Snowy January days can see lows around 10 degrees; a sunny March afternoon could reach 60 degrees. Mornings can start off in the teens and afternoons can reach into the 50’s. Beaver Creek Sports is located on-property and can outfit you for any mountain adventure or après adventure while you are here.
The best advice is to pack layers to be prepared for anything: wicking base layers, a fleece top layer, additional vest layer, wool ski socks, warm ski gloves and a neck gator for cold, blustery days.
A hard-shell ski jacket with ventilation zippers keeps you toasty and dry in snowy conditions and can be unzipped to let in the welcome cool air on a sunny bluebird day.
Comfy but durable boots are an après-ski essential. Nothing is better than pulling off your ski or snowboard boots and relieving your feet in a sumptuously soft pair that can withstand packed or slushy snow.
Summer Adventures
The non-ski months can also vary in temperature, so the rule of thumb is to pack layers and have options depending on what the day may bring. Temperatures can swing from 30 degrees to 80 degrees depending on the month and time of day. Mountain storms can roll in and out quickly, and it’s important to be prepared before heading out for the day’s adventure.
Pack layers: light base layer, fleece, vests are versatile, light jacket, rain jacket, convertible hiking pants and hat to protect you from the mountain sun. Beaver Creek Sports on property can outfit you with all these essentials.
Adequate footwear in the summer is essential if you are hiking. If you don’t already have a sturdy hiking/tennis shoe, there are area stores that can help you find a pair.
The sun is intense at mountain elevations, and sunscreen is important to protect your skin. Proper eye wear is also important to protect your eyes.
Day & Night Essentials
The mountain attire is anything that makes you comfortable! Really anything goes from fashionable elegance to relaxed and casual. Even at high-end restaurants, guests are typically in jeans and a sweater or jacket.
Sunscreen may seem odd for a winter trip, but you are much closer to the sun in the mountains, so make sure your skin is protected. Proper eye wear (googles and sunglasses) is also important to protect your eyes.
When there is snow on the ground in the winter months, practical footwear is important.
A jacket, no matter what time of year, is a good idea as evening temperatures fluctuate.
Be sure to pack your swimsuit to enjoy our outdoor heated pool, whirlpools and co-ed Grotto located in the spa.

Designed to assist parents of children participating in full-day ski school lessons, our Ski Nanny program provides transportation, drop-off and pick-up for their lessons. Before departing for a day on the slopes, kids will fuel up with a light breakfast. In the afternoon, our Ski Nanny will pick up children from their lesson with an afternoon snack, allowing parents to get in every last run. Advanced Reservations required.
Relax and unwind in our 21,000-sq.-ft. spa retreat inspired by the surrounding natural beauty. Signature treatments feature massages incorporating locally sourced herbs, plants, and minerals, including activated charcoal sourced in Colorado mines to soothe your body after a day on the slopes. The spa oasis features 19 treatment rooms, relaxation lounges with steam rooms, saunas and plunge pools, and a stone-lined co-ed grotto. The Ritz-Carlton Spa is open 9:00AM – 7:00 PM daily for treatments. The wet therapy areas are temporarily closed.

Many of these activities require reservations in advance and our Concierge team can assist with those arrangements.
